How it works
Anti-wrinkle injections are designed to temporarily inhibit muscle activity, thereby easing tension in the skin and reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. This treatment involves the precise administration of small amounts of injectable solution into targeted muscles responsible for facial creases. By blocking nerve impulses to these muscles, the protein temporarily relaxes them, allowing the skin above it to appear smoother and less wrinkled.
Uses
These injections are most commonly used to treat wrinkles around the eyes, frown and forehead but can also be used to help relax downward pulling muscles e.g. corners of mouth, jaw, eyebrows and neck to provide the upward pulling muscles more leverage to combat signs of ageing/sagging. Conversely, strong elevator muscles can be relaxed e.g. to prevent excess gum showing when smiling or to relax an upturned/cobble chin.

Muscle activity gradually returns towards the last few weeks of this period and after 12 weeks the treatment can be repeated to maintain optimum results.
You can return to work immediately but should follow the aftercare advice provided.
